The business looking to expand this time around is called Figure Technologies. Its new office in Reno is located on West Liberty Street.
The California-based company has multiple offices across the country, but it's making Reno its second home.
Their expansion means more jobs. The cool thing about this company is that you don’t have to be a computer expert to work here, they say, they will train you.
With more companies moving to the region, this expansion shows there’s potential here.
“It’s important for technology companies to understand that talent is here and you can grow here in the Reno-Sparks area, you don’t have to grow in California,” says Mike Kamierski.
Figure Technology is all about helping people with their money. They are incorporating block chain technology to their services which allows for a quicker and safer transaction online. This allows you at home to apply, process and fill out a loan or mortgage, without leaving the house.
They say, the new location will allow them to grow their customer base as well as number of employees. They opened an office in 2018 just down the street with 12 people. Now they are employing 80 Nevadans. They are planning to bring about 50 new people in.
“These are not minimum wage jobs, we are not interested in keeping track for minimum wage jobs, these are career jobs that can support a family,” says Governor Sisolak.
