The 17th Annual Cinco de Mayo Festival has returned the Grand Sierra Resort.
The Casino Resort has hosted several of Mexico's most popular bands throughout the weekend. The event runs until 8pm. Admission and access to all scheduled entertainment is only $5.00.
The outdoor entertainment includes live Latin music and dance performances, local and regional bands, and  Mexican dancing horses from Rancho el Gavilan. Over 100 vendors will offer games, prizes, specialty items, clothes, art, crafts, community information. Mexican food and other cuisine will be available for purchase in Grand Sierra Resort's parking lot.
A donation from event proceeds will be made to the Nevada Broadcasters' Foundation Tony and Linda Bonnici Broadcast Scholarship Fund. The foundation awards full tuition scholarships for the next generation of Nevada broadcasters in a variety of journalism and communication disciplines. In the five years from inception, 55 scholarships have been received by Nevada students. Twelve of the 2015 recipients are attending the University of Nevada, Reno.
