Nevada OSHA has cited two local businesses for not being COVID-19 complaint as mandated by the state of Nevada.

The Division of Industrial Relations' Nevada Occupational Safety and Health Administration says Costco in Sparks was cited for $6,268 for the company not posting the adjusted capacity at the public entrance. 

Raine's Market Inc. on Main Street in Eureka was cited $2,950 after employees were seen not wearing face masks. Also, OSHA says that maskless customers were allowed inside the store.

Nevada OSHA has issued a total of 190 citations and penalties related to violations of required COVID-19 health and safety measures in effect since mid-March. The citations have been issued as a result of both the employer observation process as well as through the investigation of employee complaints or public referrals.

During the week beginning November 30, officials conducted 117 initial visits across the state at a wide range of business sectors finding a 98% compliance rate statewide.

Officials also conducted 116 follow up visits finding 100% statewide compliance.

Of the 5,512 complaints received (as of December 2), OSHA says that 29% of the overall complaints concern general retail followed by 17% for restaurants and bars, 8% about medical facilities, 6% concern casinos and gaming and 5% about grocery stores. 

The top five zip codes for complaints, to-date, include:

• 89502 (Reno), 304 complaints

• 89109 (Las Vegas/ Unincorporated Clark County), 235 complaints

• 89431 (Sparks), 200 complaints

• 89119 (Unincorporated Clark County), 172 complaints

• 89434 (Sparks), 156 complaints
