A Sparks woman is facing felony child abuse and neglect charges after an investigation into a three-year-old child who fell from a moving vehicle.
According to the sheriff's office, it happened around 7 p.m. Friday in the area of Omni Drive and Sky Ranch Boulevard. Witnesses told deputies the driver left the area immediately after the incident.
Some bystanders called 911 and took the child to a Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District Fire station for help.
Deputies tracked down the vehicle later that night and arrested the suspected driver, 53-year-old Cythia Roes. She was arrested on a felony charge of child abuse or neglect and booked into the Washoe County Detention Center.
The child was taken to a local hospital and is now in custody of Washoe County Human Services.
