The Northern Nevada Central Labor Council and its affiliates with the help of many sponsors are holding its third annual Laborfest, on Monday.
The event described as fun for the whole family, is open to the community, takes place on Monday, September 2 at Idlewild Park located at 2055 Idlewild Drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Food trucks, live music, a kid's zone, an Artisan zone, unions, and several employers all gathered to celebrate the middle-class and working families at Idlewild Park. They even have a show-n-shine again this year
The event will offer hands-on demonstrations from several local union apprentice programs.
Attendees can try to operate a heavy equipment simulator, test out a virtual welder, bend some conduit, and more.

All funds raised from this event will go to the Northern Nevada Member Assistance Program, a nonprofit that provides apprenticeship, and community assistance (tools, boots, and emergency support to apprentices).
Event coordinators say that RTC is providing free transit on their route 16 for the event, buses marked "Special" or "Route 16" will be free they will be picking up at the Court Street parking lot and dropping passengers off at Idlewild Park.
