Nevada Secretary of State 2025

The Nevada Secretary of State's Office released a new webpage to improve the government’s engagement with the Indigenous people.

This webpage is a resource to strengthen the relationship with tribal nations and to provide better access to information for native communities.

According to the office, the webpage includes resources of about consultation processes, voter information, economic initiatives, educational material, latest news, reports and documents.

Stacey Montooth, the Executive Director of the Nevada Department of Native American Affairs said, “Two weeks ago, Secretary of State Aguilar held an election training event for all county and city election officials in our state. I had a unique opportunity to present to these dedicated public servants and the feedback I received made me extremely optimistic. Couple the continued frontline work with the fantastic Indigenous Relations webpage, and our Tribal citizens are better positioned than ever to participate in easily accessible elections.”

The office also said earlier this week, they recognize and honor Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

Secretary Franciso Aguilar said, “Nevada’s Tribes are sovereign nations with deep histories, vibrant cultures and powerful voices across our state. This page highlights resources that encourage civic participation, foster economic growth and more, and represents our ongoing efforts to collaborate and build trust with Nevada’s Tribal Nations.”
