A Fernley man was arrested last week during a traffic stop for a sex offender registration violation.
55-year-old Stephen Lafever was a passenger in a car pulled over by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, according to a release from the Sheriff’s Office.
Lafever is a registered tier III sex offender, and members of the Sex Offender Task Force determined he had failed to report a vehicle to which he had regular access, as required by Nevada law.
Investigators also found that Lafever had multiple prior convictions for sex offender registration violations.
Lafever was arrested and booked into the Lyon County Jail on one count of violation of sex offender registration requirements (subsequent offense).
