UPDATE: Governor Sisolak said on Monday in a press conference that Nevada is not quite ready to move into Phase Three of the 'Roadmap to Recovery' amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said Phase Two was extended to June 30 to give Nevada plenty of time to evaluate the data of testing, contact tracing and hospitalizations due to COVID-19.
Gov. Sisolak said residents should continue to maintain social distancing, proper hand hygiene and wearing face covering in public.
He said if smaller, local authorities want to implement stricter guidelines than what the state has set, they are allowed to do so.
"We don't want to go a step forward and take a step backward," Gov. Sisolak said, "The virus determines the timeline."
Gov. Sisolak said he will make another announcement before June 30 to update the public on whether or not Nevada is ready to go into Phase Three.
"We are in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic," Gov. Sisolak said, "We're still in the plateau range."
Gov. Sisolak discussed protections for vulnerable populations, the state budget for economic recovery and the recent protests about the death of George Floyd.
"It seems like an eternity that we've lived under this," Gov. Sisolak said, "We can only stay open if we stay safe."
