The former Scolari's on Robb Drive and Sharlands Avenue in Northwest Reno is now taking care of people in a new way. Instead of serving up food, it's dishing out medicine as a unique health clinic. Lori Martin is the Executive Director of Clinical Operations at Saint Mary's Medical Group. "We want this to be a one-stop shopping experience as a patient. So you can come here as a patient, be seen, get your diagnostic testing, your x-ray, your labs drawn and you can pick up your prescription in one visit."
At this 46,000 square feet facility, you can get an x-ray, get immediate results from an in-house lab, get an appointment to see a primary care physician, cardiologist, pulmonologist, ob/gyn, a dermatologist, or like little Avorie, once you get your fever looked at by an urgent care doctor you walk around the corner and pick up your prescription. Dr. Elizabeth Jaffe is one of six family physicians on staff. "It's the first out patient clinic like this in northern Nevada."
Saint Mary's is using this clinic as a testing ground for possible future multi-specialty clinics throughout northern Nevada.
