It's safe to say the snow wanted to make another appearance this season, leading to slick roads.

Caltrans says chains are required going both westbound and eastbound on I-80 for all cars except those with four wheel drive and snow tires.

After talking to people who live in the area earlier today, they say that the snow is something they've gotten used to throughout the years, and sometimes it can't be avoided when needing to commute.

Zach Aucella who has lived in Truckee for a few years now said, "I feel like I try to stay inside, but usually I end up having to do something outside and it's always a struggle, but, you know, being out here for a while, I found out how to drive in the snow and get around people, so it's okay."

People say this storm caught them by surprise, especially since most ski resorts have already closed for the season.

They told us that they usually keep a safety kit in their car to be prepared for heavy snowfall, but when the weather changes unexpectedly, it can make it hard to actually be prepared for it.

Thankfully, they say driving in the snow is something they've gotten comfortable with.

Aucella also told us, "Yeah, I like to have a shovel for sure, but I took my stuff out of my car already, so I've been going through these last two storms without it, but you know, it's been okay."

As always, officials are telling people to keep their distance from the car driving in front of them and to only travel if absolutely necessary.
