Nevada's Sesquicentennial Commission marked the conclusion of the Silver State's 150th celebration Monday by sealing a time capsule that commemorating the past year.
The capsule contains books chronicling the 150 year history of the state along with a Nevada 150 bumper sticker and recordings of an attempt to set a new record of people simultaneously singing "Home Means Nevada."
They'll reopen the capsule in 2064 during Nevada's bicentennial celebration.
"People at the bicentennial, easier to say the sesquicentennial, will appreciate what we were able to do over this marvelous year and hopefully get some ideas going forward, but just to put their own celebration in perspective,” says Nevada Lieutenant Governor Brian Krolicki.
The capsule will be buried outside the State Capitol Building in Carson City.
After filling the capsule, the lieutenant governor helped unveil a plaque on the Nevada Veterans Memorial.
