Nye, Clark and Lincoln County Commissioners voted Friday to confirm Gregory T. Hafen II to take over the late Dennis Hof's Assembly Seat. 

Hafen was selected from 19 Republicans who live within the district. 

Hafen will serve until the election in November 2020, when voters will select their representative.

Hafen is the general manager of the Pahrump Utility Company Inc., and is chairman of the Pahrump Regional Planning Commission and Pahrump Capital Improvement Advisory Committee. 

Hafen also has a bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Hof was found dead Oct. 16 after a weekend of parties celebrating his 72nd birthday. Officials are still determining his cause of death, but they don't suspect foul play.

Hof defeated Democratic educator Lesia Romanov to win Nevada's 36th Assembly District race.

UPDATE: The Clark County Office of Public Communications has released 19 names of people who have applied for the late Dennis Hof's seat.

Friends of Hof, the official Twitter account for Dennis Hof's campaign, posted that interviews of the candidates will take place in December.

Original Story: With the late Dennis Hof winning his state assembly seat, the three counties where the district is located will work to find his replacement.

The 72-year-old was found dead Oct. 16 after a weekend of parties celebrating his 72nd birthday. Officials are still determining his cause of death, but they don't suspect foul play.

Despite his death, Hof's name remained on the ballot  And after winning the seat earlier this week, Lincoln, Clark and Nye counties will have to pick a Republican to fill the vacancy.

"The candidate has to be a resident of the district and then they have to be from the same political party Mr. Hof was, so in this case that means the candidate has to be a Republican," says Chris Combs, Nevada Legislative Counsel Bureau: 

Applications to fill his seat will be open for the next two weeks. Then, they will be able to make a pitch at the next Nye County Commissioner's meeting. 

A decision is expected on December 3rd, with a final vote by Lincoln, Clark and Nye chairs on December 7th.

Hof owned a handful of brothels in Nevada, the only state that allows them to legally operate.

Hof starred in the HBO adult reality series "Cathouse" and wrote a book titled "The Art of the Pimp," akin to Trump's book "The Art of the Deal."
