"It's just important for my voice to be heard," said voter Jennifer Burke. "I have to look, I just have to take my time. I think it's important to be here in person. Mail-in is a good choice too; however you choose as long as it's done>
Nevada could see record voter turnout this year when all the ballots are returned. Many chose to mail in their votes this year but for some, the ballot had to be case in person.
"I have to look, I just have to take my time," Burke said. "I think it's important to be here in person. Mail-in is a good choice too, however you choose, as long as it gets done."
Despite some shouting early on, the wait at that location was mostly a peaceful one, and it went quickly, at times with no line at all.
"We're all humans and let's love each other, no matter what the outcomes is," Burke said.
Many of those who stood in line vote on a regular basis. For others, it's the circumstances of the unprecedented year that brought them to the polls.
"I just wanted to weigh in for the country, do the right thing; I don't normally vote," said Marla Jamieson. "Things have seemed to take a turn for the worst so I think if I can do something to make things better, I'll try. One vote at a time, I guess, is what they say."
