I am the current Assemblyman for District 40 seeking re-election to my third term. I serve on the Board of Directors for Carson Tahoe Health and past chairman for Carson City Salvation Army Advisory Board. Additionally, I served four years as a Commissioner on the Nevada State Commission on Ethics and am a retired 40-year law enforcement veteran.
WHAT IS YOUR TOP PRIORITY IF ELECTED?
To continue building upon and diversifying Nevada’s Economy, reduce burdensome regulations, improve our medical & mental health services, respect our Veterans, support our Law Enforcement and fix our challenged education system. We need policies which promote Nevada as the place to conduct business, raise a family and enjoy the beauty of our great state.
IN JUST A FEW SENTENCES: WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM FACING OUR STATE, AND HOW WOULD YOU FIX IT?
Nevada’s falling K-12 Educational system directly contributes to most of the numerous challenges facing Nevada today. Many businesses which would be willing to come to Nevada don’t thus damaging our economic recovery and diversification plans. Expand school choice opportunities along with other educational delivery initiatives, such as expanding charter schools, Read by Three programs and increased funding for Teach Nevada Scholarships. Continuing record school funding with school auditing and accountability.
