Due to the extension of school closures ordered by Gov. Sisolak, the Washoe County School District (WCSD) will continue to operate its Distance Learning Program by providing learning materials and contact with teachers and staff through April 30.

Families may download and print these lessons at www.washoeschools.net/distancelearning.

The same materials will be available both online and in paper packets, which are provided to families that do not have internet access. The District has worked to ensure equitable resources and materials for all students, no matter which educational materials their families use.

“Our District staff continues working to support our students and families,” said Interim Superintendent Dr. Kristen McNeill. “Distance Learning has been a new experience for all of us, and I appreciate our students, families, and staff members who have collaborated so effectively to ensure our students continue to learn and stay in contact with their teachers. We encourage our families to download the lessons online whenever possible, but we recognize that not all of our families have access to computers. Our staff has worked hard to produce, print, and organize these printed materials so our students and families will have access to the resources they need to continue the school year from home.

“In accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, we remind our families to maintain at least six feet of physical distancing at the pickup sites,” Dr. McNeill added. “We want our students, families, and District employees to stay safe and healthy.”

Families that do not have internet access may pick up paper packets of learning materials. Any family may go to any of the locations listed below to pick up materials, and will not be asked for identification.

WCSD Transportation employees will load the packets into yellow school buses and drive to each site where employees will hand out packets from the buses for all grade levels to any family in need. WCSD urges families to practice physical distancing while picking up materials from the yellow school buses parked at each site.
