Head coach Lee Nelson announced two additions to the Nevada Wolf Pack volleyball program on Monday.Â
Local product, Alyssa Zuro who played at Spanish Springs in 2016 before moving to Damonte Ranch for the past three seasons, will likely play outside hitter and add depth in that position on the Wolf Pack roster. The second signee, Reka Monteleone, is a native from Murrieta, Calif. who plays for Vista Murrieta HS and the Forza 1 Club; currently plays outside, opposite and middle blocker.Â
Zuro helped lead the Damonte Ranch Mustangs to a 28-5 record and the Regional playoff semifinals while recording 218 kills on the 2019 season. She was named to the 4A All-League team in 2019 for her performances. In 2018 she was named to the First Team 4A Sierra League All-Region team while also being a Nevada Prep All-State Honorable Mention. In 2017, Zuro was honorable mention, 4A Sierra League member.Â
Monteleone has helped her high school team to the semifinals of the CIF Regional tournament in Southern California. She was a member of the second place club team (17 UA) that competed at the 2019 USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championships and was named to the all-tournament team. In 2017, Monteleone was a member of the 15 UA Patriot Division team who placed second at the same, USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championship tournament.Â
The Pack have just two more matches on the season, both home contests, against the top two teams in the Mountain West. First up, Wyoming on Thursday night at 6 pm.Â
