Nevada Softball Drops Game Two at San José State

Former Nevada standout and current volunteer assistant diving coach Krysta Palmer has earned a spot on the Team USA 2019 World Diving Championship roster, after her performance at the USA Diving Senior National Championship this past weekend, in which she and Alison Gibson took the national title in the 3-meter synchronized springboard.

Palmer and Gibson combined for 573.36 points to secure the title but had been sitting in second heading into finals. The two recorded a 292.23 in the final round with their third of five being the highest-scoring that earned a 67.50, edging out the prelim leader.

"I am very pleased with our performance at Nationals, my synchronized partner and I were pretty consistent throughout the two rounds of diving," said Palmer. "We have been training together a little over a year now in Austin, Texas and syncing up regularly has really helped our diving feel more natural together. We've come so far and I am so excited for more opportunities to dive on the world stage."

This was not the first time these two have teamed up. Gibson and Palmer took gold in the same event last month at the FINA Diving Grand Prix in Mission Viejo, Calif.

The 2019 USA Diving Senior National Championships is part of the 2019 Team USA Champions Series. The champions series showcases numerous Olympic sports throughout the year, highlighting the quest of Team USA athletes to compete at the Olympic Games.
