The following is a list of chain controls and/or road closures:Â
- CA-89 is closed from One Ring Road to Jameson Beach Road around Emerald Bay
- Chains or 4 wheel drive with snow tires are required on Mt. Rose Highway from SR-28 to Douglas Fir Drive
- Chains or 4 wheel drive with snow tires are required on SR-28 from US-50 junction to Crystal Bay
- Chains or 4 wheel drive with snow tires are required on US-50 from Spooner Lake area to California/Nevada state line
- Chains or 4 wheel drive with snow tires are required on CA-89 from Tahoma to One Ring Road
- Chains or 4 wheel drive with snow tires are required on CA-88 from Kirkwood to Carson Pass area
- Chains or 4 wheel drive with snow tires are required on SR-359 from Hawthorne to California/Nevada state line
Caltrans says the westbound lanes of I-80 near Farad are blocked due to a crash. Drivers seek alternate routes.
Caltrans also says US 395 southbound, north of Crestview and south of June Lake Loop is closed due to a jackknifed big rig. There's no estimated time for reopen.
