April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month. As many as one million people in the U.S. are estimated to have this progressive neurodegenerative disorder of the nervous system. It affects movement, and as the disease progresses, puts those who have it at high risk of falling. But in today’s Health Minute, Mandy Gaither delves into new research aimed at predicting – and preventing – that first fall, which experts say is a critical gap in Parkinson’s disease care.
