Washoe County Coroner Identifies Man's Body Found at Lake Tahoe

The Washoe County coroner has officially identified the man's body found in Lake Tahoe near Chimney Beach on Friday. 

The medical examiner says 69-year-old Xavier Olivas of Yucca Valley, California was found in Lake Tahoe by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office HASTY Team near Chimney Beach.

The ME's office says the cause and manner of death is pending further investigation.

No foul play is suspected.

His body was found submerged in the lake following a five hour-long search.

 


Washoe County Sheriff's Office Search & Rescue, HASTY Team and several other agencies responded were combing Chimney Beach and Lake Tahoe water for a missing man on Friday.

Officials said shortly before 1 p.m. on Friday afternoon, 69-year-old Xavier Olivas reportedly jumped off a boat in the water and hasn't been seen since.

He's from Yucca Valley, California and was last seen wearing red shorts and silver chain. He is described as 5'9" tall and 150 pounds.
