Washoe County's RAVEN Helicopter Helps Find Missing Family

A Washoe County RAVEN helicopter helped rescue five people who went missing near Martis Peak on Monday.

Around midnight the helicopter found the missing people using thermal imaging and night vision goggles.

Deputies say a young woman had separated from her party to get help leaving an older woman and an 18-month-old toddler behind.

They also found two men who went to look for the family.

The helicopter directed search and rescue crews to help get them to safety.

The family was missing for about eight hours.
