Wildlife officials presented a bill to the Nevada Legislature last week to try and make changes to protections of moose in Nevada.
The bill, AB83, would add moose to the list of animals protected under Nevada law, including bighorn sheep, mountain goat, elk, deer, pronghorn antelope, mountain lion or black bear.
The bill states it is against the law for a person to kill those animals or aiding and abetting another person in killing them in certain ways, during certain times or without a tag.
The bill goes on to mention that the law does not prohibit the killing of those animals if it is necessary to protect the life of any person in "imminent" danger of being attacked.
