During the course of the investigation, police say it was learned the 14-year-old boy had brought knives to school on the days leading up to the incident with the intent to initiate an altercation with another student.
The Washoe County District Attorney's Office has released its report on the 2016 officer-involved shooting at Hug High School, calling the shooting justified and not a criminal act.Â
