The March from the Arch is the annual homecoming parade that starts in downtown Reno and proceeds to the University of Nevada quad.
The celebration brings together students, alumni and the community.
Homecoming activities take place every year at the university, but the parade is considered one of the biggest events.
Over the past two years, the March from the Arch has drawn support from more than 4,000 students, alumni and members of the community.
Caden Fabbi, a senior at the university, says the event has grown each year.
“It's all about bringing the alumni back to campus and really having our community come to the campus as well, you know the mayor has said over and over again that more than ever we're a university town and I think tonight we're going to be able to prove that even more, hopefully with record attendance and more activity going on," says Fabbi.
The students help sponsor the March from the Arch, but it's the Alumni Association that coordinates the parade.
They've interacted with the school's athletics and the city of Reno officials to make the celebration special for everyone.
Alumni Matt Clafton, says this is an event he can count on every year to bring alumni back to their alma mater.
“There’s so many alum that live in the area that you know, sometimes we get busy with life and everything else and we just kind of lose sight of where we came from and we get an opportunity to come back and participate," says Clafton.
