The Douglas County Sheriff's Office has identified the Heavenly Mountain Resort employee who died on Saturday. 

Deputies say 36-year-old Christopher John Nicholson was found unconscious near the expert trial of Mott Canyon area of Heavenly Ski Resort. 

He was then flown by Care Flight to Carson Valley Medical Center where he later died.

The South Lake Tahoe man was a member of the Heavenly Ski Patrol and had been working that day.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Washoe County Coroner’s Office is working to identify a cause of death.
