Winners for the 32nd annual Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off were announced on Monday.
The six-day festival featured 22 of the country’s best rib cookers squaring off for the title of Best In The West.
First place went to GIT-R-SMOKED team - the Reno area team won $10,000.Â
Second place went to Back Forty Texas Barbecue from Pleasant Hill, California, $5,000
Third place was Montana Q Bar-B-Que from Frenchtown, Montana, $2,000
Fourth went to Blazin’ Bronco BBQ from Port St. Lucie, Florida, $1,000
And lastly, fifth place went to Butch’s Smack Your Lips BBQ from Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, $500

People’s Choice: Back Forty Texas Barbecue, $500
The 33rd annual Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off is scheduled for Wednesday, August 31 through Monday, September 5, 2022, on Victorian Avenue at the Nugget.
