This is the seventh year for the Biggest Little City Wing Fest in Downtown Reno and the festival keeps getting bigger.
"We are going to serve more than 20,000 pounds of chicken wings," said Tony Marini with THE ROW.  "We have more than 20 cookers in Downtown Reno and there's something for everyone -  whether you like it hot, sweet, dry rubbed, we even have a cheesecake wing so you gotta down and try these wings."
The strawberry cheesecake wing is a crowd favorite from Paulie's - cooker Paul Archie is a multiple people's choice winner with all kinds of recipes up his sleeve.
"Strawberry cheesecake hot wings are our best-selling wings out there," Archie said. "We have a salted caramel wing, and this year we're trying a bacon-wrapped wing. We will also have our chicken and waffles wing; we go outside the box a little bit. I'm from Buffalo and Buffalo wings are our specialty, but we're in Reno, let's change it up a bit."
They're expecting 40,000 people in Downtown Reno over the next two days. And if wing's aren't your thing, there are plenty of other options.
"There's plenty of great live entertainment that is completely free," Marini said. "We'll have Brew Brothers out here with craft beer, you can get a mojito, a sweet tea and a good ol' cheeseburger too."
The competition is always a fierce one and these cookers are ready for two days of slinging wings.
"Last year we went through 40 cases, that's about 1,600 pounds of wings ourselves - I didn't eat it, I just cooked it, let's be honest here," Archie said. "I'm ready, I'm always ready I look forward to this event all year, some of these guys we talk about wing fest all year long."
The even runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, July 5th and Saturday, July 6th.
"Come down and support us," Archie said. "We need the locals down here, this is the best event in Reno."
Virginia Street will be closed from 2nd to 6th through Saturday.Â
