Former Washoe County Commission Chairwoman Bonnie Weber announced on Thursday that she is running for Reno City Council, Ward 4.
Ward 4 includes North and Northeast Reno, University Terrace, Panther Valley and Stead neighborhoods.
Weber served on the Washoe County Commission from 2003 to 2015 and served on the Regional Transportation Commission from 2012 to 2014.
In a statement, Weber said, “I’m looking forward to meeting my friends and neighbors again throughout Ward 4 as I ask for their vote for Reno City Council. Serving the North Valleys has been my passion for the 32 years that my husband and I have lived in Ward 4. We’ve raised our family here and our daughter and her husband and our two grandkids live here in the North Valleys also.”
