If you drive along USA Parkway east of Sparks you can't miss the unending construction work there as more and more manufacturing plants come to Northern Nevada riding Tesla's economic wave.
"We have a great area, lots of land a very business-friendly atmosphere," said Bill Miles today in his office in Carson City.
Miles Construction is putting all available workers to work on projects at the Industrial Park and in the Reno-Sparks and Carson City areas.
"Times are good," Miles says. "Our industry has come back since the big downturn and we are now heading toward the future at breakneck speed. We tend to hire as many people as we can and then rely on temporary hires for some of it. That's just how the industry works. But we are looking to fill some full-time positions right now. And this is a good place to be."
They broke ground last week on what will be a world-class whiskey distillery. And they have a number of projects in the Industrial Park, some they can't even talk about just yet. But every one of them is putting people to work and building diversity in our area.
"There will come a time when we have to really recruit from other states but right now we're putting a lot of locals to work. And there seems to be an awful lot of work out there."
