After being closed over five years, a Northern Nevada butchery has reopened its doors.
The new Butcher Boy location, at Plumb and Arlington streets opened back up to customers Friday, after being closed since 2009.
"We were there for 37 years, and I opened a huge store in Reno at the wrong time and it didn't work out," said owner Ken Jolly. "So I took a few years off, and I'm ready to go for it."
Back in November of 2009, Jolly had to close both of Butcher Boys' stores, in South Reno and in Sparks on Rock Blvd. But since things have been improving, he says now is the right time to open back up.
The original location opened up in 1974, and for that reason, Jolly expects this new site to be successful.
"Everybody in town is excited," he said. "I have a following of loyal customers. We're opening and we'll have a huge influx of people and it should be a busy busy store."
