Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada got a big donation from a California food company on Thursday.
MCI Los Cabos gave about $200,000 in food to help the hungry.
The donations included frozen burritos, enchiladas and more than 8,000 pounds of ground beef. "This is food that we are almost never able to give them and meats are always in a short supply. So, this ground beef is going to be huge for families, they are really really going to be excited," says Peter Vogel, Executive Director, Catholic Charities in Northern Nevada.
The donation was made possible in part by the Department of Agriculture, which helps Catholic Charities get about 60% of its food.
Catholic Charities serves about 600 meals a day in its dining room in Reno.
