U.S. Forest Service in the Angeles National Forest reports that a fire in Los Angeles broke out on Saturday around 2:42 pm.
The 3,380-acre Charlie Fire is 1.8 miles east of Castaic, California and is 86% contained.
624 personnel are currently on scene trying to contain the fire.
The cause is under investigation.
At this time Lake Hughes Road remains closed just above the main upper lake boat launch to Dry Gulch Rd. Dry Gulch Rd. also remains closed. The East side of Castaic Lake State Recreation is still open to normal outdoor activities, the west side of the lake remains closed. San Francisquito Canyon road has reopened, but the fire equipment is still present in this area, so please drive with caution.
Fire crews expect full containment by September 28th.
