An injured bald eagle is recovering after being rescued recently by Placer County deputies in the North Lake Tahoe area.
The Placer County Sheriff's Office posted a photo of the eagle on Facebook on Tuesday.
Through a coordinated effort, the eagle was safely transported to Gold Country Wildlife Rescue, where it is getting medical care.
Deputies say it is improving and has a healthy appetite.
"We’re grateful for our community and wildlife partners who play a vital role in protecting Placer County’s natural resources. If you encounter injured wildlife, please contact local authorities or a licensed wildlife rescue organization for assistance," the sheriff's office says.
