Chili's Restaurant has released a statement in response to an incident they found on May 11 involving payment card information.
They said that they believe the incident was limited to the time period between March and April 2018.
Chili's said payment card information, including credit or debit card numbers, as well as cardholder names was possibly gathered by malware.
They reassured their guests that personal information such as social security numbers, full dates of birth or federal and state identification numbers are not some of the information they collect, and therefore were not compromised in the incident.
They reported that they are working with third-party forensic experts to conduct an investigation of what happened.
