UPDATE:Â The Sparks Police Department has released new information on a multi-car crash that happened on Christmas Day around 5:06 p.m.
Officials said five vehicles were involved and it happened on westbound Oddie Boulevard at El Rancho Drive.
They said a gray Dodge truck was going west on Oddie, when it rear-ended a maroon GMC at a high rate of speed. They said the impact caused the Dodge and GMC to strike three other cars before coming to a stop.
Officials said three people in the GMC were taken to the hospital. Two of those people are currently in critical condition.
They said the driver of the Dodge fled the scene on foot. Officers were able to locate him a short time later.
The Sparks Police Department said 42-year-old Juan Jose Fuentes was arrested and charged with: duty to stop at the scene of a crash involving death or personal injury, driving under the influence of alcohol causing substantial bodily harm, driver's license revoked, duty to decrease speed and open container.
Original Story: The Sparks Police Department (SPD) and the Sparks Fire Department are responding to a multi-vehicle crash at Oddie Boulevard and El Rancho Drive.
They say this crash involved five vehicles.
SPD says two people were transported for moderate injuries.
They say the driver of the grey pickup truck is a suspect in this crash and fled the scene.
SPD is currently searching for that driver.Â
They ask the public to avoid the area at this time and to use alternate routes.
