Fireworks are the cause of a 1.2 acre wildland fire on Tamarack Beach at Pyramid Lake Saturday night, per Pyramid Lake Fire Rescue EMS.

Pyramid Lake Fire Rescue EMS says no one is being cited because the people had proper permits to light fireworks.

Fireworks are allowed on some beaches of Pyramid Lake, Tamarack Beach is one of them.

With the help of Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue, firefighters were able to stop the fire from spreading. 

Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue says no structures were impacted or injuries reported.
