The Nevada Department of Corrections says an inmate died this week at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City.
Authorities say 59-year-old Gene A. Montanio died Tuesday at the Regional Medical Facility inside the correctional center.
Montanio was committed from Clark County on June 27, 1994, and was sentenced to Life with Possibility of Parole, for Kidnapping II, Sexual Assault and Use of Deadly Weapon Enhancement. Â
An autopsy is being scheduled to determine the cause of death.
