If you ask voters most will tell you that they don't see how anything productive is getting done in Washington, D.C. IN fact those we talked to in Reno seemed pretty discouraged by the current situation.
"I guess work is getting done, but not at the rate the American people expect," said Niel Crowley of Reno.
""I think nothing gets done that's right," said Mary Jo Higgins of Fernley>
"People are tired of the political bull that we have been getting for years now," said Gerald Phillips of Reno.
What would our congressional delegation have to say about those comments? We asked them.
Senator Harry Reid (D) Nevada said that he disagrees that nothing is getting done.
"I'd say it's working he said. But yes, it could work better. And I'd say to those criticizing it that they need to think about what government really does for them and realize they are stuck with it so they should make it better."
Senator Mark Amodei ( R) Nevada says he's just as frustrated as everyone else.
"We can't continue with this gridlock for another two years," he said. "I mean it's one thing to take votes and get nothing really done but we don't even take votes. And it's hard to defend coming home and not even being able to discuss the votes."
And Senator Dean Heller (R) Nevada says the media is against anything positive so he cited the accomplishments that have happened.
"I think that the gridlock in the senate is loosening up," he said. "We passed a budget for the first time in six years. We passed an education bill and a high way bill and a doc fix on the medicare bill. Those are all important and good things that benefit the people of Nevada!"
All agreed that there will likely be no progress on the immigration situation until after a President is seated. Yet all said it wasn't because of politics.
