Interstate 80 (I-80) east of Truckee will have lane closures from 6 AM to 6 PM Monday, November 7th to November, 23rd.
California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) says additional work may be required after the Thanksgiving holiday, and they are altering motorists to expect delays.
Interstate 80 from Hinton Road to the Acid Flat Bridge east of Floriston will be closed as the contractor increases surface friction by grooving the concrete pavement on both eastbound and westbound freeway lanes.
They say on Monday and Tuesday, November 7 and 8 work will will begin in the eastbound lanes and on Wednesday and Thursday, November 9 & 10, they will work in the westbound lanes. The week of November 14, they will return to first the eastbound lanes then the westbound lanes to finish grooving.
Motorists are likely to experience traffic delays due to I-80 only having two lanes. Caltrans is encouraging motorists to plan for additional travel time in that area.
There will be no work on Veteran’s Day November 11th.
