After hours of inspecting Silver Lake on Sunday, officials have paused the search for a missing teenager until Monday morning. Law enforcement has been searching for 17-year-old Sunny Dicarrillo following a missing person's report. Dicarrillo is described as being 5 foot 9 inches tall and weighing 190 lbs.“He was wearing a brown jacket and blue jeans,” said Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Bob Harmon. Sunday afternoon at around 2 pm, the first sign of the teen was found.
“An orange kayak was found in the area off the shore of Silver Lake near Red Rock Road. Turned out the kayak was owned by the missing teenager,” said Harmon. A kayak was found, but the teenager is still missing. The Washoe County Sheriff's Office says the Reno Police then contacted them for their search and rescue team.“We do have teams that are working the shoreline. And we also got a team on the water now in a boat. We are seeing what we can do in all prudence,” said Harmon. Because the kayak was found in Silver Lake, law enforcement is choosing to concentrate their search in the location.“We're not aware of Dicarrillo having any sort of a history as a runaway or any sort of situation like that. The search of Silver Lake will continue Monday.
