Carson City is now the set of a new Lifetime movie with big names in front of the camera and behind the scenes.
"We've had a great time here in Carson City and everyone's been so supportive and great," says, Actor and Executive Producer Mario Lopez.
The actor who once strutted down the halls of Bayside High is now walking the streets of Carson City as he stars and produces the movie Feliz NaviDad which is about a widowed father who's daughter, played by actress Paulina Chavez, wants to get him back into the dating scene but he's reluctant to fall in love during the holidays.
What's more is everyone's favorite witch-- Melissa Joan Hart is also directing the Lifetime movie and bringing business to the area.
Hart says she lives in the Tahoe area and likes to bring as much production to the area as possible. The crew include a lot of locals.
The crew wears face masks, get their temperature taken and even have someone designated to go around every hour to give out hand sanitizer. Production did get set back three weeks but the crew is working hard to bring holiday cheer.
"We've had to accommodate and make sure we're following the rules of how many people are can be in the area at one time and as a result the crew is a little bit smaller than normal because we wanted to go ahead and adapt if that number were to go 50 to 25 or 50 to 10," say Mark Roberts, a producers on the movie.
He adds, "So if that means being more careful and taking care of each other and social distancing is what we have to do to do our jobs then we're going to do that."
Feliz NaviDad is set to air on Lifetime in November 2020.
