Memorial Held in Sparks for Tennessee Shooting Victims

On Wednesday, our local community honored the servicemen killed in last week’s shootings in Chattanooga.

A couple dozen people gathered at a senior center in Sparks for a memorial where they recited the Pledge of Allegiance in front of a flag lowered to half-staff to show solidarity with the victims' families.

"It's the families that are hurting, and anything we can do to reach out in our own way, they'll get the message,” says Capt. Robert Lee, U.S. Marine Corps. (Ret.).

Those who attended the service, located near Orvada Street, said it was important to them to honor those who gave their lives for our country.
