Mendive Middle School Students Donate to Veterans Home

Students in the Mendive Middle School leadership class conducted a schoolwide fundraiser for Veterans Day. The students managed to raise $600 for the Northern Nevada State Veterans Home (NNSVH).

The 31 students in the class also participated in the Send a Smile campaign by submitting photos and videos with messages for the NNSVH residents.

Julia Bartsch, one of the leadership instructors, said the Mendive student body and staff were honored to help support the veterans.

NNSVH opened in Sparks in 2019 with 96 beds to help provide short-term rehabilitation, long-term care and memory care. Nevada Department of Veterans Services oversees NNSVH.
