The Major League Baseball (MLB) organization is making hospital gowns and masks out of uniform material for medical professionals in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.Â
The company Fanatics has stopped making MLB jerseys in it's manufacturing plant in Pennsylvania. It's goal is to make one million masks and gowns for those on the front line of the virus.Â
The masks and gowns have a team look, featuring the classic pinstripe from the Phillies and the Yankees.
The Fanatics Executive Chairman says he woke up in the middle of the night and thought of the idea.
The MLB's opening day was supposed to be Thursday.Â
The MLB and Fanatics say they're proud to support the brave healthcare workers fighting coronavirus.
