A suspect is in custody on multiple charges and outstanding warrants after trying to flee Washoe County deputies attempting a traffic stop, the Washoe County Sheriff's Office reports.
The incident began on Mt. Rose Highway near the Thomas Creek area, said Sheriff's Office spokesman Bob Harmon. During the pursuit the suspect, Juan Antonio Anguiano-Pacheco, doubled back, sideswiping a squad car.
Shortly afterward a stop strip was deployed just south of Sky Tavern Road, disabling Anguiano-Pacheco's tires, according to the Sheriff's Office. He then fled on foot into a snow bank but was captured after a short chase.
Anguiano-Pacheco had warrants out for his arrest in Placer County, Harmon said.
He faces charges including DUI, disobeying an officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving with a disregard for safety and driving on a suspended license.
