This week, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe relocated and renamed the Ponderosa chairlift. The new terminal is called the "Wizard" and will provide access to four new beginner trails.

Approximately $1.2 million dollars in improvements are scheduled including the expansion of the snowmaking system and renovating the Kids Lesson registration area in an effort to reduce wait times. The resort will also be investing in the latest snow grooming equipment, rental skis and snowboards, renovating the Timbers bar, and plan to relocate and update the Main Lodge basket/ski check in.

Minimum wage for workers at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe has been raised to $11.00 per hour, 33% higher than the mandated $8.25 per hour minimum wage in Nevada. Mike Pierce, director of marketing at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe, says that this wage increase will help them "to both remain competitive as an employer, and attract and retain top talent across a variety of positions."This wage increase went into effect September 1, 2015 in nearly all departments at the resort.

Mt. Rose's anticipated opening day for the 2015-2016 season is October  29, 2015, weather and conditions permitting. They will begin hiring for a variety of seasonal positions for this winter season on October 1, 2015.Â
