The National Weather Service in Reno has issued Red Flag Warnings for western Nevada and northeast California, that will go from 1 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. on Saturday. Areas also include Reno, Carson City, and the Sierra Front stretching down to the Mammoth Lakes area, will all have high fire danger.

NWS says this is a particularly dangerous situation for Saturday, when the winds will be the strongest with 40-50mph gusts possible.

Avoid outdoor activities that can cause a spark near dry vegetation, such as four wheeling, yard work, target shooting, or campfires.

The combination of gusty winds 15-40+mph, and low humidity can cause fire to rapidly grow in size and intensity before first responders can contain them.

If you live near heavy vegetation or in the mountain areas, be prepared if you have to evacuate by having your most important documents and possessions ready to go in a moments notice, if a wildfire starts near you.
