More than 1,000 NV Energy customers are now without power across Washoe County.
The biggest outages, both located in Sparks, were planned but two smaller outages were not. One is under investigation while the other was caused by a transformer issue.
11:45 P.M. UPDATE:
The number of people affected by power outages in Washoe County has dropped to slightly less than 1,800, according to NV Energy's outage map.
The cause of an outage in northwest Reno has been identified as a pole or wire being down. The cause of other outages in the county remains under investigation.
The outage in northwest Reno was estimated to be restored by 11 p.m., but remained active as of 11:45 p.m.
Other area outages have no estimate for when they will end.

The number of people without power in Washoe County has climbed to more than 4,500, according to NV Energy's outage map.
The number of people affected by outages in northwest Reno has decreased, but additional outages have popped up across the county.
The cause remains unknown for most of the outages, though pole-mounted equipment failure is listed as a cause for an outage affecting more than 250 people on West 4th Street.
There is no estimated time for power to be restored for most of the outages.
The outage on West 4th Street was estimated to be resolved by 10 p.m., but is still active on the outage map as of 10:10 p.m.

NV Energy is reporting a power outage in northwest Reno affecting more than 3,800 people.
The power company's outage map shows the outage off of North McCarran Boulevard west of Kings Row.
The outage began at 7:13 p.m.
