Hiker rescued in Placer County

Authorities have released video of a hiker being rescued earlier this month near the Tahoe Rim Trail.

The Placer County Sheriff's Office shared the video on its Facebook page on Wednesday.

Deputies say the rescue happened in the Painted Rock area of Lake Tahoe on July 5th.

They say a woman in need of medical aid, who couldn't hike out on her own, was rescued by the county's Falcon 30 helicopter - which you can watch below.

"Thanks to clear communication and expert coordination, the crew made a complex rescue look effortless. After safely hoisting the woman aboard, the team executed a careful landing on a bridge to get her safely to the ground and into further care," they say.
