The City of South Lake Tahoe is going to allow vacation home rentals following a recent court ruling that ruled Measure T unconstitutional.
The South Lake Tahoe City Council recently voted 4-1 against appealing the court ruling that deemed the measure unconstitutional.
The council also approved a 45-day moratorium on issuing vacation home rental permits in areas where Measure T prohibited them.
This moratorium allows the council to consider changes to the existing 2018 vacation home rental ordinance, and to build up staffing to enforce any potential changes.
The city can extend the moratorium past 45 days if they deem it to be necessary.
Officials encourage residents to stay informed of changes, and to participate in open discussions when they happen.
Updates will be made available to the public through the official City of South Lake Tahoe Website.
